General Intuition in Talks at a $6B Valuation as It Pushes Into Physical AI
The startup building foundation models that move agents through space and time is raising again — just weeks after its last round.

The Story
New York-based General Intuition is in talks to raise funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation from new investors including Valor Equity Partners, Point72 Ventures, and Seven Seven Six, according to sources familiar with the matter. Existing investors including Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst are also participating.
The fresh funds would come just weeks after General Intuition raised $320 million at a $2.3 billion valuation. That is a rapid re-rating — from $2.3B to a $6B pre-money in a matter of weeks — and it makes the startup one of the hottest names in the push toward physical AI.
What the Company Does
General Intuition is building a foundation model that trains generalized AI agents to move through space and time. CEO Pim de Witte spun the company out last October from his video game clip-sharing platform Medal, using its hundreds of millions of hours of gameplay and "action labels" — records of which buttons a player pressed and when — as an initial dataset.
The core idea is that gameplay footage is a rich, already-labeled source of embodied action data. Teaching an agent what to do in a virtual world, with explicit records of inputs and outcomes, is a stepping stone toward agents that operate in the physical world — which is where robotics comes in.
Why the Re-Rating Matters
Physical AI — agents that act in the real world rather than just generating text — is being treated by investors as the next big unlock after chatbots. Robotics has historically been capital-intensive and slow to generalize; the bet here is that large action models trained on massive datasets can make embodied intelligence as tractable as language modeling became.
The speed of the valuation jump — from $2.3B to $6B pre-money in weeks — shows how hot this segment has become. But it also invites the obvious question: how much of that is fundamental progress, and how much is the broader froth around anything "agentic" or "physical"?
My Take
General Intuition's rapid re-rating is a snapshot of where venture capital thinks the frontier is moving: from text generation to action. The Medal-backstory is a genuinely novel data advantage — few teams have hundreds of millions of hours of labeled action data lying around. But the $6B figure, coming weeks after a $2.3B round, will test whether the company can deliver embodied intelligence at a pace that justifies the hype. Physical AI is real, but it is also the newest crowded trade in a very crowded market.
